Pastor Leroy Joseph was born in Ville Platte, Louisiana on January 9, 1935. He was a member of Ninth Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. W. C. Frank Sr., and was baptized at an early age. He left Ville Platte in 1950. He moved to Houston, Texas and became a member of St. Matthew Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. W. A. Gordan.

In 1955 at the age of 20, on his way to prayer service Rev. Leroy Joseph received his calling from the Lord. The calling was so firm and clear, that he had to answer "Yes, here am I Lord send me, I'll go." Rev. Joseph preached his first sermon at St. Matthew Baptist Church, entitled "You Can't Hide From God." Amos 5:19.

Rev. Joseph graduated from Union Baptist College and Seminary. He served as Chairman of the Christian Rescue Mission, Moderator of Fellowship District Association and Finance Secretary of Central Baptist Convention of Texas. He is presently the Moderator of the Ark Of Love District Association, Dean of New Direction, member of the Ministers Against Crime, Public Relations Coordinator of Progressive Baptist State Convention of Texas, and member of the National Baptist Convention USA Inc. He is the founder of the Christian Faith Missionary Baptist Church.

Pastor Leroy Joseph is involved in many organizations, and is very successful, but he will not forget that the Lord has blessed him and kept him all these years. He has made Houston his home, but he will always remember his hometown of Ville Platte, LA. He refers to Ville Platte as VP which stands for Valuable Place.
